We go to the ends of the earth for the stone that fits our clients’ visions. Clients entrust us to find the opportune and unique stone for their project or development.
By sourcing internationally, travelling directly to the vendor’s quarry ourselves, we’re able to provide the very best possible slabs or materials. Over the years, we have developed relationships with quarries in Italy, Germany, China, France, Spain and Israel.
To Italy and back for the Right Stone & Marble
Recently we had a project that requested Ceppo Di Gre from Italy. This job required a budget and a quantity of a specific material that could not be met locally.
We didn’t have a lot of time to make this happen, but we acted quickly and booked a flight to the quarry. There Steven Bonventre searched and hand selected a block of stone to be cut into slab and tile needed to complete the project.
He returned home with a sample from the quarry and delivered it to Bates + Masi Architects for their approval.
With the client’s approval, we quickly finalized the order, received the slab shipment and completed the project on time and on budget.
Most importantly, the extra effort that went into sourcing the stone provided our client with the satisfaction of seeing their design vision come to life, and that makes it worth all the effort and jet lag on our part.

By pure chance Steven ran into Paula, architect for Tino Marcino. Steven was happy to be asked for his advice on her stone slab selection.
It’s always rewarding to find the right stone slabs for our clients’ projects at the source – wherever that may be. On this trip, Steven was in the mountains in Italy.
Timelines
There is much to be said about the importance of having adequate lead time to be able to source and acquire stone from our resources overseas. Sourcing directly from the quarry allows us to provide our clients with greater options—more choice in the type of stone, the ability to custom select the slabs’ appearance, and the opportunity to add more value to the project overall.
When lead time is restricted, it can mean choosing stone only from American quarries or purchasing overseas material that is already in the US from distributors, minimizing our options. Less choice can potentially mean compromising on the architect’s and developer’s vision.
